The installation process
Your stairlift,
fitted properly.
From a free home survey to a tidy, same-day fit — here's exactly what happens when you book a stairlift installation with our local Manchester team.
- All-in pricing, no hidden extras
- Most lifts fitted within 24–48 hours
- 12-month parts & labour warranty
- Acorn-accredited local family team
A simple three-step process
Most installations are far less disruptive than people expect.
We've fitted stairlifts in homes right across Greater Manchester — terraces in Salford, semis in Stockport, bungalows in Tameside — and the process is the same every time: clear advice, a clear, upfront price, and a professional fit that leaves your home tidy.
Step 1 of 3
Free home survey & clear quote
Every installation begins with a no-obligation visit from one of our own engineers — not a salesperson. They'll measure the staircase, talk through the user's mobility and any space concerns, and confirm the best type of lift for your home.
You'll get a written, all-inclusive price on the day. There's no pressure to decide on the spot — take your time, talk it over, and call us when you're ready.
- Local engineer, not a call-centre salesperson
- Written all-inclusive price on the day
- Honest advice — including when a stairlift isn't right for you

Step 2 of 3
Choose the right lift & book a date
Once you're happy with the quote, give us a call and we'll get everything moving. For straight and reconditioned lifts, we hold stock locally and can usually fit within 24–48 hours of your call.
Curved staircases need a made-to-measure rail, so lead times are normally 1–3 weeks. If you need a curved lift faster, ask about our Emergency option — fitted within 48 hours.
- Straight & reconditioned fitted within 24–48 hours
- Curved stairlifts normally 1–3 weeks (Emergency 48 hr option)
- A fitting slot booked at a time that suits you

Step 3 of 3
Installation day & handover
A straight stairlift typically takes 2–4 hours to fit; a curved install usually takes half a day. The rail attaches to the stair treads — not the wall — so there's no damage to plaster, skirting or décor, and the staircase stays usable on foot throughout.
Before we leave, our engineer demonstrates every control with the user (and family, if it helps), runs through the safety features, and hands over your warranty paperwork. All packaging is taken away.
- Rail fixes to the treads — no damage to walls
- Floor protection used throughout, all waste removed
- Full demonstration & 12-month parts & labour warranty
