Manchester housing — what we typically see
The city has the full range of UK stair types: Victorian terraces in Levenshulme and Longsight with tight 700–800 mm widths, 1930s semis across Withington and Didsbury with quarter-turns, post-war council stock in Wythenshawe with shorter straight runs, and newer apartment conversions in Ancoats and the Northern Quarter. We've fitted them all. For narrow terrace stairs the Acorn 130 folds to around 340 mm; for half-landings the Acorn 180 routes a custom rail in 1–3 weeks.
Same-week fitting across the city
Straight and reconditioned lifts come out of our local workshop and are usually fitted within 48 hours of survey — often same-day if needed for a hospital discharge or rapid mobility change. Curved lifts take 1–3 weeks to manufacture; our Emergency option compresses that to 48 hours when a family situation needs it.
